Almost July Releases New Single - "FADED"

Almost July's New Song, "FADED" Reflects on Love, Loss and Hope During Quarantine

(New York, NY)

Almost July's new song, "FADED," began as all of their songs do, with writer/producer/vocalist Skip Glogan matching thoughts to sounds in his home studio, and collaborating with drummer Derek Broomhead both in the studio and in rehearsal.

Versions of the song were tried out in New York City clubs like Mercury Lounge and Rockwood Music Hall earlier in the year. When COVID-19 derailed touring plans, home lives and social lives, Skip and Derek stayed in their respective home studios and kept working. They watched "FADED" morph into what it is today, a mix of hope, loss, and nostalgia.

"'FADED' began as a song about life and love in New York City, and wound up a reflection on suddenly losing that life, missing loved ones, and hoping we could all reconnect again. I think we are all missing that sense of freedom and connection we had not that long ago." - Skip

About Almost July

New York-based band Almost July is the creation of Skip Glogan, who writes, produces and arranges all of their songs. Their live show has Skip playing keys and fronting the band with a combination of live instruments, samples, and electronics created in Ableton Live. The band is completed by New York mainstay Derek Broomhead (drums, drum pads).

Almost July has made their mark at iconic NYC venues Rockwood Music Hall and Mercury Lounge. During quarantine, they have been avoiding total insanity by collaborating over zoom and live streaming from Skip's home studio.
