John McKivergan wrote the song "Just Stop" to support the people of Ukraine. He hopes that when people hear this song they will feel some empathy for the innocent people whose lives are being torn by the war and that maybe some listeners will be motivated to donate and prayer for those who are suffering.
What was going on in your life when you wrote this song?
"When I originally wrote this song the Syrian civil war was going on. I was sick to my stomach at the suffering of the Syrian people as their own government destroyed them. I wrote the remix version of this song after the war in Ukraine started. In a similar fashion I was disgusted when Russia invaded Ukraine and made life in Ukraine a living hell."
What was it like to write this song?
"The original version of this song was difficult to write. It was actually the first song that I had recorded and released. It was cowritten with a studio Demo My Song who were great to work with. The remix of this song just recently released was easier as I tried to rewrite it with rewrote it Rap / Rock kind of feel. I worked again with Demo My Song to have it recorded."
What is it like to listen to this song now?
"When I listen to this song now I have mixed emotions. I am very happy with the production of the song. It is an anti -war song and I think it definitely makes that point. On the other hand, I am writing about people suffering and I wish I did not have to do that."
