California Releases New Album - “California Loves You”

Featuring the hits “Perfect World” and “Arrow Thru Your Heart” (Bailey, CO)

Fresh off an unprecedented run of nine consecutive #1 socially conscious international hits on the Radio Indie Alliance chart, veteran singer/songwriter and MIDI pioneer Les Fradkin cheerfully resurrects California – the name of his classic 70s and 80s band – for his latest album whose very title, "California Loves You", reflects his sunny and infectious optimism as he chronicles the stages of a modern-day romantic relationship. Its release coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the original California’s signing to Laurie Records, well known for its recordings by Dion and Gerry and the Pacemakers. The album’s summery lead single “Perfect World” – which celebrates the joys of two people creating the perfect relationship despite the man’s inherent flaws – recently broke through on the Billboard charts, rising to #70 on the Top 100 Mediabase Activator Chart.

Fradkin, who launched his career while the Beatles were still together, calls it a bona fide miracle that “two 70-year-old indie artists” – he and his wife and life and creative partner Loretta Pieper Fradkin – could chart a track above contemporary pop greats.” Fradkin’s earlier solo single “Under the Covers” from his 2021 album The Cross in the Sky, peaked at #50 on that same chart.

In "California Loves You", The Fradkins weave a story of a man who is looking for love yet doesn’t recognize when he first sees it. Once he does, he pleads to the girl to take a chance on him, then promises her a wonderful life together if she agrees to commit to him.

“I’m living in a perfect world, I’m living with a perfect girl, who’s perfectly happy to be, with an imperfect guy like me”.
