Country Music Artist, Florida Rancher, and United States Marine, Eli Mosley is carving a path in the Country Music industry by singing about the things he loves and lives. With nearly one million organic streams, Eli has achieved remarkable success without the backing of a record label or Nashville promotion agency. He has released four Nashville-recorded albums featuring top session players, toured extensively since 2014, and opened for artists like Jon Pardi, Miranda Lambert, Cody Johnson, Jelly Roll, and Chris Janson. Balancing a career in music with his life as a working cattle rancher, Eli continues to deliver modern yet traditional country music that resonates with audiences across the nation.
Was there something or someone who was the "catalyst" for you to go into music?
There were a couple things that got me into this. The first time was seeing a country singer named Tracy Byrd play at a local festival near my hometown in Central Florida. I was around six years old and that got the childhood dream started. It was always in the back of my mind until I saw George Strait play in Orlando, FL in 2004. From that moment on, I was hooked. I knew this was what I wanted to do with my life. That and be a cowboy.
Let's get this out of the way. What is the craziest thing that has ever happened in your music career?
I think for me, it happened not long ago. In the past several years I have had the opportunity to meet many of my musical heroes and that is always cool. But about 4 months ago I was invited backstage at the Grand Ole Opry by one of those heroes, Mark Wills for the evening. As I am headed back to his dressing room, I walk by Vince Gill in the hall. I go to Mark and say, "Oh man, Vince Gill is right over there!" He laughs and says, "You haven't met him, let's go!" In a few seconds I'm being introduced to Vince, by Mark, and Steve Earle walks in. It was simply insane to be a 12x12 room with three music legends that I grew up listening to and each shaped my career.
What has been the highlight of your music path?
There have been so many that this is a hard one to answer. If I had to choose one, it's the people I get to meet. Not just the artists and celebrities, but the everyday people that I get to meet at shows. The cowboy from Wyoming as we swap stories about cattle work, the factory workers, the teachers, all the fans, all the friends I've made along the way.
How do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like?
Songs to me have to be relatable. I know so many songwriters that set out to write a "hit". That just doesn't work for me. I have to feel it, experience it. I usually leave the "radio singles" to my cowriters to pitch to me. I write the ones about life that I live. Or something I've watched someone close to me live. We start with writing from the heart and go from there.

Do you have a new release?
I actually have a new song coming out on September 5th! It is the Florida version of a song I wrote with some friends called "We Still Ride". I originally wrote it with some cowboys in western Nebraska and wanted to change it, so it was about my experiences on the ranch in Florida. So, this is literally what I, and so many other cattlemen in Florida experience on a daily basis. It's a reminder that the way of life we see on "Yellowstone" on tv is actually alive and well across the country.
If you could share the stage or a song session with an artist, who would it be?
Kix Brooks from Brooks & Dunn. I have met him, and he's one of the greatest humans I have met in the industry. He's been such a huge influence on my music as a songwriter and performer, it would be a huge honor to cut a song with him in the studio.
For fans who have never heard your music, how would you describe your sound?
I am a traditional Country artist with a modern tone. I write with guys who wrote for George Strait, Alabama, and Reba, while recording with people who play on records for Morgan Waller, Keith Urban, Cody Johnson, and Jon Pardi. So, it's a blend of old school and new country.
What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, producing...something else?
Definitely performing! I love the stage and relating/reacting to the crowds. But, I am really enjoying writing in this phase of life too!
When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing?
I love working the ranch back home. There's nothing like hopping off a plane from a tour run and saddling up a horse and riding through the herd and checking fences.
What is coming up in the future for you?
I'm super excited about the new music I am releasing. Not just this single, but several others coming up afterwards off a new album I am working on. Also, I am touring this summer and fall in Wyoming, Texas, Oregon, Arizona, and Florida.
What are some fun facts fans might not know about you?
