ree

The Bittersweet Millennium is a solo artist from Kansas City that makes Alternative Rock music. I just started making and producing music recently since the middle of summer of 2025. My first album "Sleepless Nights Yet Still Dreaming" comes out on October 24th. The album has themes of insomnia, sleeping, dreaming, relationships, and life struggles.

Was there something or someone who was the "catalyst" for you to go into music? I lost my minimum-wage job and a relationship in the middle of summer of 2025. Both of those events spiraled me into a depression alongside with bad nights of insomnia. I wasn't going anywhere in life and I remembered hearing about how one of the best ways to deal with depression is to create art. I always wanted to make an album at some point in my life and I felt like this was the opportunity to do so.

Let's get this out of the way. What is the craziest thing that has ever happened in your music career? Having to rerecord my album not once, but twice. When I was first recording I only had about half of my songs. I had to upgrade my operating system on my computer that I am recording on, which ended up deleting everything I had. I re-recorded those songs and had the album done, until I realized that while recording the levels from each equipment weren't right and there was this underlying high pitched ringing throughout every track. I had to rerecord everything AGAIN and finally was able to get the right sound without making my ears bleed.

What has been the highlight of your music path? The song that I've been showing off "Turbulently Turbid" was my favorite song to make. I was genuinely shocked at how well of a song it was, and I only made it in one day!

How do you approach songwriting or what is your creative process like? I approach songwriting going with instrumentals first. Once I have my song ready for lyrics, I will listen to them over and over to understand the feeling. Then I will start the lyrical process that can relate to the vibes of the song. I tend to work chorus first to really understand the meaning of the song, and then I can work on verses. Finally I will sing my lyrics and will rework them in order to make them fit the rhythm and ensure they make sense.

Do you have a new release? As of this publication, have my first album coming out on October 24th. The name of the album is "Sleepless Nights Yet Still Dreaming." The album has themes of insomnia, sleeping, dreaming, relationships, and life's struggles.

If you could share the stage or a song session with an artist, who would it be? My homeboy Seventeen Years. He's another Kansas City artist that has been making music far longer than I have and he is a source of inspiration.

For fans who have never heard your music, how would you describe your sound? I would probably describe my music as down to earth and counteractive. I put a lot of heart into my music both instrumentally and lyrically. I mention counteractive because I would say that because my songs can either be light or heavy in tone. I was inspired by artists such as The Beach Boys and Panda Bear.

What is your favorite part about being an artist? Is it songwriting, performing, producing...something else? Producing my songs was actually really fun. It was really satisfying being able to sit down and perform each track and slowly listen to them develop more sound and layers.

When you are not doing music, what else do you enjoy doing? I enjoy my daily walks at day or night. I love surrounding myself in nature, observing the things around me, and learning about the things I come across and remembering for what they are.

What is coming up in the future for you? This is the beginning of my music career. I am still currently practicing my songs and would like to perform at any open mics around the Kansas City area. I am going to take a little bit of a break but I want to get back into making more music. I don't know what the next sound will be but I do want to work more on the synthesizer side, but I am also up for making more alternative rock music. I have been considering on working with other fellow musicians as well. Release Date: October 24
