JuiceThaBlackBeethoven's "I'm A Winner" bursts onto the music scene with a contagious energy that's hard to resist. Hailing from a rich musical background, including being raised in the birthplace of Jazz and the Rock and Roll Capital of the World, Juice's musical prowess shines through in this track.
The song opens with an electric fanfare of horns that set a fierce tone, leading into a retro-inspired drumbeat that acts as the driving force of the track. Juice takes an "old-school" approach to his rapping inheriting his flow from the boom-bap era of hip-hop.
With each bar, Juice instills a sense of empowerment and positivity with lyrics that focus on fighting through the struggle and owning your self-worth. Sharing his own story of how he came up, Juice inspires those who are dealing with adversity and their own obstacles in life to keep their heads up and push forward.
"Listen up my people cause this might be your story My life was messed up, but now I'm gettin' all the glory Worked hard for years, now I'm smilin' and I'm grinnin' Done paid my dues, that's why I keep winnin!"
Approaching the bridge, the beat ramps up with layers of layers of synths before breaking down into just bass and drums. With the breakdown, a group chant starts as if you're in a team huddle and everyobdy is getting pumped up to win the game. This is exactly the type of energy that Juice wanted to bring to the record.
The song's meaning, as shared by Juice, reflects a desire to create an anthemic, sports-oriented pop song with a universal message of self-worth and resilience with lines like "Got a superstar heart and a superstar inner." With his song "I'm A Winner", Juice shows that as a songwriter, lyricist, and positive force in the world - he is a winner all around!
