Chicago-based singer-songwriter and producer Kama Tala is set to release “Stereopsis” on August 28, 2025, a groundbreaking collaboration with lyricist and vocalist Kevin Kahne. The track fuses the futuristic spirit of science fiction with the pulse of 90’s rap and the electronic edge of Daft Punk, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-looking.

This release marks the first collaboration between Kama Tala and Kevin Kahne, a partnership born out of chance when Kama knocked on Kevin’s door looking for work, only to discover a shared musical vision.

Kama had already written the music and chorus, sung through a vocoder to give the song its robotic, sci-fi essence. He reached out to Kevin with an open invitation to write verses. Within minutes, Kevin responded with lyrics already recorded, setting the stage for a seamless creative exchange. One session at Kama’s vine-covered studio was all it took to finalize the vocals, leaving Kama to complete the production.

Lyrically, “Stereopsis” explores the concept of higher intelligence making contact—whether divine, digital, or deeply personal. “It could be God,” Kama explains, “or someone waking up in a video game. It’s about contact between two individuals.”
