“That Thing” by Kalina & Kiana Is Selected For BWH Music Group's 'That Summer, Volume 2'

Updated: May 20, 2019

(Boston, MA) BWH Music Group Announces Kalina & Kiana’s Song “That Thing” Has Been Selected for ‘That Summer, Volume 2’, A Sizzling Summer Compilation Album That Features The Best Independent Artists in the World. About "That Thing"

“That Thing” was written by Kalina & Kiana and Michael Campion, (their Father) - the three family members have written together for years. The song flowed naturally from the beginning with a strong hook, lots of vocal parts and a groovy bassline. Producer Darryl Swan captured the song’s summer vibe in the vocal-driven-pop track.“That Thing” was recorded at Clear Lake Studios in Los Angeles. Drummer Noah DeBolt layed down a killer groove; Zach Esposito played the sick bass and Jakob Thomas knocked it out of the park with Beatle-esque guitar parts. This band is a must see live!

"This is the kind of song that you want to listen to while you drive down Pacific Coast Highway with your windows down. The bass and vocal hooks will be stuck in your head all summer long!” - Kalina & Kiana Fan Message

About Kalina & Kiana

California-based pop duo, Kalina & Kiana are siblings who have been singing harmonies together since they were babies, still buckled into their car seats! Their music and high-energy shows are filled with magnetic hooks that will have you singing along by the second chorus.

In 2007, the sisters formed an all-girl band called The Raymies and began writing songs at ages 11 & 13. They led The Raymies for 3 years and gained stage experience with more than 100 live performances. Their dad produced the music, while John Stamos produced a TV pilot for Disney to serve as a launching platform. The show was scheduled to replace Hannah Montana. When Disney only wanted Kalina & Kiana, the girls passed on the deal in an effort to keep the band (friendships) intact. In the end, the Raymies ended and Kalina & Kiana continued to move forward with a TV deal in Europe and a rigorous touring schedule.

After the Raymies, Kalina & Kiana then entered an exclusive development deal for a musical TV project in Europe. While the show was in early stages, they continued to create music under the pseudonym of Rocky’s Revival. As Rocky's Revival

gained momentum, they faced another challenge - Kalina was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She went through chemotherapy and she is now in complete remission! During the cancer treatments, the girls coined the phrase “gigs with wigs” and the band opened for world famous groups like The Bangles and Justin Bieber, with Kalina sporting a wig onstage! As Kalina recovered, they wrote for other projects including Miraculous Ladybug for Nickelodeon.

The European show began production in 2016. Kalina & Kiana continue to write songs for and occasionally guest appear in Maggie & Bianca, now in Season 3 on Netflix. Check out this fun video of Kalina & Kiana playing a favorite cover song "Cool" And why are the sisters feeling so cool these days? They are no longer contractually bound. They have shed “Rocky’s Revival” and are keeping their name: Kalina & Kiana. Focusing on their signature “Poetic Pop”, Kalina & Kiana are now committed to pouring themselves into music that bears their names.
